Another example is a large manufacturing/distribution center who replaced a 4381
Model P13 and its 3380 DASD with a IBM S/390 Integrated Server and RAID 5
DASD. The customer is a VSE/CICS user with many batch applications.The IBM
S/390 Integrated Server is connected to the existing printers, tapes, communication
and display controllers supporting over 100 users.
1.Planning
The planning session took about two days.The first day was used to
determine what was needed to move to the new environment and resolve
connectivity issues.Another day was spent mapping their volumes to the RAID
DASD to configure their new system.

2.Installation
Day
1: Installed and configured IOSP, (P/390 licensed internal code and
device drives/managers) and RAID 5 disk storage.
Day
2: Installed VSE/ESA operating system.Configured DEVMAP and
copied customers workload from tape to the IBM S/390 Integrated Server.
