The default for the multiple window version is
NORMAL-@-&-O+BL+CN
This produces a display which is pleasant to read but also
allows editing operations.
Special character codes will be interpreted for the IMLAC
display while not showing splices, eclipses, or pmujs.
The viewspec string will take effect in the specified window.
If none is specified, it will take effect in all windows.
