13 HYPERTEXT CHARACTERISTICS ____________________________
FRESS uses the percent sign ("%") as a delimiter, to
differentiate specially created Structure (generically referred to
as Hypertext) from ordinary literal text online. The first
character(s) following a "%" defining a piece of Structure
indicates which type it is. The generic format of a complete
Structure code is:

%<Structure-ID symbol>[<data>]

NOTES _____
Figure B.1 summarizes all possible Structure as each appears
online. The meaning and function of these Structure types are
explained in the "Structure Data Fields" table. That table
lists the various types of data fields, which pieces of
Structure they may be associated with, and how they are
displayed online. The explanations of individual commands
should be referenced for information on how to create and edit
each data field.

Figure B.1 -- Structure-ID Symbol Representations _________________________________________________
If more than one data field appears on a particular piece of
Structure, they appear in the order indicated in the "Structure
Data Fields" table.
The appearance of Structure is important so that the reader may
recognize it in the text and because of the specialized rules
which apply to editing Structure.
