This code behaves more like an edit code than an alter code in
once that the date appears only ____ (where the code is specified).
The current date can also be printed as part of a title by
imbedding "&1" or "&2" into a title string (see !+TITLE+).

The actual number of lines available for text in the current
column or page is equal to the !+DEPTH+ code minus the top and
bottom margins.
The size of <lines> is governed by the !+PAGE+ alter code.
EXAMPLES ________
!+DEPTH66+ is the correct value for paper 11" long, printed 6
lines per inch (unless it is desired to print over page
boundaries). [!+DEPTH66+ was used for this manual.]
