October 1, 1979 FORMATTING EDIT CODES
TAB
NOTES _____
All the parameters are optional; the simplest form of the tab
code is !-T- which positions the text at the next table
position (see !+SETTAB+).
Some text (at least a special blank) must follow the tab, for
the <fill> character to work properly.
All online tabs are currently treated as left tabs. The
default tabular index is reset to one at every new line code.
WARNINGS ________
<col> The tab code will not work properly if _____ plus the
less than !+WIDTH+ minus one left-margin is not ______________________________. If it is
equal to one less, FULLPRINT will insert a dash ("-") and put
the following text on the next line. If it is equal to
!+WIDTH+, the following text will be put on the next line. If
tab will be ignored it is greater than !+WIDTH+, the ____________________, but a
problem may develop later in the FULLPRINT.
None of the tab codes start new lines. Users should be careful
or else the text will overlay.
If a literal character is specified as a "fill character", it
will automatically be capitalized. To "fill" with a lower case
character, the decimal representation should be specified.
If an !-E- edit code is imbedded within a string of text
backspace following a tab code, it is treated as a _________.
